[pct-l] Relative Time

Fortunately, the PO will be open again the following day (or in a
couple of days depending on the situation), so at most it means a minor
delay. Of course, for some, that means a hardship because they won't be
able to keep their "schedule". I rather enjoyed those unexpected hiccups
during my trip (its all a matter of attitude). They gave me an opportunity
to interact with some of the locals and get to know a bit more about the
town/locale I was going through. Well, that and the fact that it meant I
could gorge myself a few extra times.

The thru-hikers I admire most (actually envy is probably a better
word) are those that stay out there longer rather than shorter. Not that
they see any more than a fellow traveler on a faster schedule, but that they
delay the inevitable return to work / school, etc. My philosophy has always
been that a bad day on the trail is always better than a good day in the
office. Of course, I don't get out now anywhere near as much as I used to
(too many of those "good days in the office" - damn)!

	Cheers,
Eric "The Red", class of '81
