[pct-l] IN SHAPE?
I generally get in shape on the trail. Here's the caveats:
1. Keep doing the kind of conditoning you're doing, but put on your pack.
2. Do a training hike, as long as you can find time for, with all the gear,
food and water you'll carry from the border, then adjust based on results.
3. Hike no more than 12 miles a day for the first five days, then ratchet
up.
This should allow you to avoid most early overuse injuries and work up to
your desired daily mileage on the trail.
Happy trails, Hobbit
