[pct-l] bears

This bear thread has really been interesting, but I'm
just wondering.  Since these bears are plaguing hikers
and campers--an obvious nuisance--and would likely be
"put down" if caught by the park service, why not just
shoot any that are found with their hand in the cookie
jar?  Wouldn't this help to eliminate the problem?
