Using TOPO! I traced the trails between Rush Creek an Mammoth.The distances
were 10-20% shorter. Upon hiking the trail the reason was obvious.
SWITCHBACKS! My suggestion is whenever you see switchback when tracing make
exaggerated switchbacks with the trace. This seems to fix the problem.

I've had the same problem. The PCT route is inaccurate in the software.
VERY inaccurate! By miles in some areas. (Castle Craggs, for instance). I
emailed the mfr., but they seem unconcerned to fix it until the next
version, which they will CHARGE us for. Use the guidebook.
