Just a note of interest.  I brought Ron (Strickland) out to Warner Springs to begin his section hike yesterday evening.  A delightful dinner at Stonewall Mine in the Cuyamacas (still quite warm, even at 6:30) and a wonderful sunset in the valley near Ramona.  The entire region is green and lovely still.  And the firepersons located at Warner Springs were happy to point us in the right direction.  Be sure to stop in and say hello, they are fairly slow this time of year.
