[pct-l] Pace and Disability

After trekking from Campo to San Gorgonio Pass, last spring, at the
lightning pace of about eight miles per day, I concluded that the PCT was
designed by God for 25-year-olds, not necessarily for persons with a
disability, like myself--I have Parkinson's. Still, it was the adventure of
a lifetime, and I hope to sneak away from my concerned wife next September,
to do another 50 miles in Washington. (I did manage to up my milage to 10
miles per day, walking from Bridge of the Gods to Mt. Hood, last September.)
I sure do admire Brick and his 30 miles per day, but this is a whole other
realm. And I'm not talking about a stop-and-smell-the-roses kind of pace;
believe it or not, because of my limited motor skills, these eight to 10
miles took all my time and energy.
I'd be pleased to hear from anyone with the the point of view of walking the
PCT at a snail's pace.
