I'm not much for figuring out why things happen, but I notice when they do.  
Under certain circumstances you're going to get condensation, be it a tarp or 
tent.  I use a single walled Nomad and have lots of condensation on occasion, 
but I've never considered it a major problem, only a minor annoyance.  

Being wet is part of the package, but generally, thirty minutes of sunshine 
will dry out any gear, not to mention lift the spirits.
