I thought this for many years, no, many decades. Then I cut my weight and
got a G4 pack. I find I sweat less when I'm carrying less weight, so the
lack of an external frame doesn't make much difference as far as ventilation
goes. Therefore will use my old Kelty Sonora only when I NEED to carry the
extra weight.
