I have a Suunto. I believe a better choice right now is a Garmin GPS with
built in compass. At 5 ounces and less than $300 it appears a better deal.

Wish we'd have a rolling blackout in Portland today. The weather's gorgeous
and I'd like to go out in it!
Anyone have any experience with those HUGE altimeter watches? I've seen the
Suunto brands at REI and they're humongaloid, but strangely appealing.
Planning on XC skiing the Mt. Hood area next week. Any recommendations?
I've done the Teacup/Trillium Lakes around there. Hoping there's enough
snow! Anyone ever tried to ski the PCT? Not that I'm volunteering...
Rachel
