Hola folks!  Como estas? I've had a question lurking
in my mind, and the recent conversations have forced
me to comment.

As for self arresting, take a look at the second
edition of go-lite magazine (copyright amigo).  in it,
for 19.95, you'll find fingernail ice axes that are
more like claws than ice axes.  Naw, seriously, there
was a single spot in the california portion of the
trail (Mather pass?) that looked deathly this last
summer.  sure, the ice axe was of use, but my gathered
and calm thoughts were much more important tool.  

Secondly...Rebecca Williams.  Did she have red hair? 
If so, I met her at Bill Person's place this summer. 
She was an angel.  If I remember correctly, some kind
of lower body injury put her out in the Sierras. 

Next, does anyone have Meadow Ed's address?

Finally, does anyone have the final tally of those who
made it into Canada?  How many were there, and whomade
it?
