Hi Willie.  Glad to see your posts.

I met the Staggerin' Willie and the Menacing Vegetables twice on the PCT
this year - at Kennedy Meadows and Stehekin. They did have a unique attitude
to hiking the PCT. Was it better than mine (and other thru-hikers)? I think
it depends on what your goals are/were.

 My wife and I were determined to hike the entire PCT this summer. We
completed the trek and enjoyed the experience. We also made mental notes
about places to which we will return for shorter trips. Since we are within
a days drive of most of the trail we can return and enjoy those areas at our
leisure.

We wouldn't trade our experience for that of the Menacing Vegetables.
