Marty,
I say aim for a start date of 15 April.  Keep track of snowpack, and
adjust the start date by +/- 1 week for an extra light/heavy snowpack.

Subject: [pct-l] When do  i start????
Over the years I have hiked 2000 miles of the PCT. I want to hike the 
remaining miles this spring.  I will be starting at the Mexican border
and going north to Walker Pass.  The question is when is a good month
to start?  I am "only" doing 600 or so miles.
