Several years ago up on the High Divide in Olympic National Park I found a Chopat knee strap. No one around to claim it so it came home with me, on my knee of course. Haven't had a bit of knee pain since, I had been using a neoprene knee brace, felt like a hot girdle, never knew when you would want it on for all the down hills. (While up at Hoh Lk this year I lent it to a Park reveg person who used it and had the same results). The knee strap (you wear it just below the knee cap) cushions the impact of the pounding. Each strap is about $15 each, comes in various sizes, sorry one color only. Check out their website, www.cho-pat.com I now wear one on each knee when going down hill, even the good one, I don't want to take the chance of adding injury.
Congrats to all those who started and those who finished the PCT. Any idea how many finished this year?
