There are actually two (2) routes to Cedar Grove from the PCT -- Woods Creek
and Bubbs Creek. Bubbs Creek is a tough elevation loss from 8500 to 4000
feet at Road's End. From there it is a 4 mile hitchhike to a large store
that should have everything you need as it supplies many car campgrounds in
the area. If you were not a purist you could return via Woods creek and, in
a couple of days, pick up the PCT after Glen Pass and Rea Lakes. However, if
you did this you would miss some of the best scenery in the Sierra.
The big advantage of the Bubbs Creek exit as opposed to Kearsarge is a
shorter, easier hitchhike at the expense of a longer walk.
