[pct-l] confused

I am so confused. If Ray Jardine's book is so fatally flawed there must be
some other book available on long distance hiking. The other day at the book
store I saw a rather big book by a Collin Fletcher, would it be a better
source of information or are their other books available? I am also wondering
if some of those who have been pointing out the flaws of the "Ray Way" could
not possible write their own book and make it available to us so that the
"right way" would be known. I am sure since it so easy to pick the correct
water treatment, stove, tent, and pack it would be easy to write a book on
the subject without offending people. I am also having trouble finding the
sentence in the Jardine book that says the "Ray Way" is the "Only Way". If I
show up on the PCT with a Golite produce are other hikers going to throw
thing at me?
