North to South on the PCT

I'm planning a July and August hike on the PCT and am considering the =
North - South direction from Seiad Valley to Walker Pass.  Does anyone =
have any opinions on N/S vs S/N or know of a trail guide written N/S?  =
My thoughts are that starting North would condition me for the high =
Sierras and save some of the best for last.
