I know that Monte, even though it appeared so, is any post from you simply
saying!
You're a "snow guy" and getting hiking and getting caught in a storm is
probably par for the course! Others without the benefit of experiencing
western snow on the PCT may have trouble with your forecast in a real sense.
An early start virtually guarantees problems on Mount Laguna and the San
Jauncito Wilderness because of it's history of early spring snow storms, not
to mention arriving at Kennedy Meadows well before June 15th (Ray Day) and
getting through the High Sierras before the snows has had a chance to
consolidate.
If per chance, the hikers of 2000 pass thru without any snow, I'd suggest
they go back and do it again, when there is.
It's late here in the east, gotta go, and love you all, Sly
