A few quick questions about trekking poles, keeping in mind I'll probably get a whippet as well:
1. What are the differences between the cork and foam?
2. Do you recommend aluminum or carbon fiber...or giant stick?
3. Snow baskets, yes or no? If yes, twist on or permanently fixed?
4. I've heard the flip/lever-lock adjustable are better than the twist-lock, but are the tension cord or even the fixed pole better than the adjustable?
5. Black Diamond or REI?
6. Has anyone bought the Black Diamond Distance Carbon Z-Poles?
