According to a trail conditions report published by Deschutes National
Forest, snow levels are currently around 5600-6000' in Central Oregon.

This is about a month earlier than it would usually be at that level.
Earlier this spring, things were looking about 2 months ahead, but a cool
and rainy May slowed things down a bit. And the mosquitoes for which Oregon
is so justly famous are usually at their worst for about a month after
melt-out, so they could be less of an issue than usual by the time
thru-hikers get up here
