I have to agree with Ed about Hammock Gear. Adam and his wife make excellent quilts and stand behind their work. My girlfriend and I both use hammocks so we have 8 or 9 of is top and bottom quilts. We have them ranging in temps from 50° to 0° Also check out his Cuben Fiber tarps.

I can't speak to most of your post, but Adam, at http://www.hammockgear.com/, does make custom quilts. I have a couple of his quilts for my hammock and he does very good work.
