[pct-l] Hiker Scam

In response to a call for a diversion from all the dangers on the trail now days, I submit the following for your edification:

One day TrailDust was getting ready to go meet hergirlfriends for some market shopping again. Grizzly says, "Say, you go the market a lot these days, but you hardlybring anything home."
 
"Oh, my girlfriends and I just like to go shopping."
 
"Also, what is up with all the cheap wallets on thebedroom dresser?"
 
"I like to accessorize when I go out," saysTrailDust.
 
Later Grizzly is reading the morning newspaper.  He notices a warning for women about a scamthat is sweeping the area shopping centers. 
 
The scam works when two or three great-looking,college-aged PCT hiker studs come up to a woman and her friends as they are returningto the vehicle after shopping. 
 
The guys start wiping the vehicle’s windows with arag and Windex.  Their bulging muscles flexinside their tight T-shirts.  When youthank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' but instead ask for a ride toMcDonald's.

You agree and they climb in the vehicle. On the way, they pull off theirT-shirts as they start crawling all over you, while another one steals yourwallet.

Some local area women have reported this scam was pulled on them and theirfriends on multiple occasions.  
 
On the second page of the newspaper there is a boxad notice saying the Dollar Store has run out of a sale item -- cheap womenwallets.
