[pct-l] Bear encounter before Kennedy Meadows

To contrast with those who've had no bear encounters, I've had 3 bears interested in my food on the PCT and JMT:

Charlotte Lake, food hung high in tree eaten by bear at midnight. (just west of PCT/Kearsarge junction) 

Center Basin junction north of Forester Pass, friend's trash bag containing food taken from pack mid-day. 

Little Yosemite Valley, pack outside my tent inspected by bear and found empty of food at daybreak. Bear then got breakfast from a pack in a neighbor's camp. I saw several other bears get dinner the same way the night before.
