[pct-l] Keeping Cell Phones Charged?

In the city, my one-year-old Android smartphone's battery lasts about one
day without recharging, when actively using it for about 1.5 hours.  OK, so
on the trail I won't be surfing the web, and I'll turn it off when not
trying to make a call.  Still, it's hard to imagine the battery lasting
even two weeks.

What experience do folks have, and does anyone carry $$$ spare batteries?
