> Last I heard, there was no official, certifying agency, specific training or actual rules that people had to follow in regards to service animals...I feel it is disrespectful of people to bend the rules that are meant to provide access to people who wouldn't otherwise be able to have an experience most of us take for granted because it isn't hard for us. I don't mean to be a critical of any one individual, just the actions of a few.

I also feel it's disrespectful for people bending the rules to ignore the effect their animal may have on those around them.  For example, I NEVER used to see a dog brought into a grocery store...NOW I see it all the time.  Some store, grocery or otherwise, try to bar non-service animal from being brought into the establishment, but it's nearly impossible to know how many such patrons really have service animals and how many of them simply say it is so because they won't be bothered to leave their animal home.
