I have hiked in them. They are pretty nice. Mine are a little too
small so I can only do short hikes. They are too small because they
hyped up the foot-shaped last so much I decided to risk not buying a
couple sizes too large. I don't find the ladies version to be wide
enough. My feet flow over the edges all the way around. I also can't
wear them with the insoles that come with them. I'm sure if I got the
mens version of the Lone Peaks in a size larger I would like them.
However, there are other running shoes that have wider toeboxes and
tighter around the mid-foot that fit me better. Right now I'm really
loving the New Balance 730 mens D width. Fits my EEEE width just fine
because of the big toebox.
You might want to contact Nancy Huber (Why Not). She hiked the whole
CDT in them. Her trail journal was this year on postholer.com under
Continental Divide Trail.
