I have a three-month window at the beginning of next year (Jan-Mar) during which I would like to hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail, probably at the southern end. It would be a leisurely pace, with my dog. I saw a recommendation that ideally hikers should start at the end of April, but can this hike be taken during the winter months?
