Snickers, I don't remember any snickers that weren't accounted for.  Nah,
wasn't me.  I've got an allergy to snickers most of the day.  I'm only
allowed them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, no snack snickers for me.  Got
to keep the quantities down.   Must of been the bears north of Hood, I've
heard they have keys to the post offices up there.  You know Oregon folks
are real friendly with their wildlife.  I did see some thrus with dark brown
slobber on their chins, and sort of running down their shirts, but that's
how most of us looked by Hood.

As for was, of course is, is the proper term.
