Whether it is words of wisdom contained in the current thread, "Things I wish someone had told me before I started my thru hike" or the next, "Mistakes I made while hiking the PCT," it is wonderful and very much needed. 

Not only does the aspiring thru hiker need to know what to bring, how to prepare, etc., but he or she needs to understand the realities of the adventure through hearing all the advice they can get. This is a great topic and I hope it continues!
