[pct-l] Re-supply

I'm new to the type of re-supply strategy required to hike the Sierras (specifically the JMT). I have chosen Toulumne Meadows, Red's Meadow, and VVR as my re-supply points. My question, as a rookie to re-supply is for those who have used those locations before. How far in advance should I ship my packages? And, VVR specifically request UPS, however, Red's meadow does not specify which carrier they prefer, can anyone help? Thanks--The Rookie
