I haven't seen anything on the email list about it recently, just some minor 
mention regarding South bounders.

I just called the Canada Border Services Agency

and asked about this and he said the permit that is issued is all that is needed to cross into Canada at a remote border site. 



He may not be informed of the latest development but that is what he said
