A south-bound version of the PCT Guidebook would be a nice project, but I suspect it would have a rather tiny target market.
The two most popular guides to the John Muir Trail both have route descriptions and mileages going both north- and south-bound in the same volume, but we're only talking about 212 miles vs. 2600.
"Guide to the John Muir Trail", by Thomas Winnett and Kathy Morey, Wilderness Press, 2004.
"John Muir Trail", by Elizabeth Wenk and Kathy Morey, Wilderness Press, 2007.

Now that I think of it, last month when we did a section of the trail
southbound I found the Wilderness Press guide book to be very
difficult to follow. Some people, such as myself, actually like a
verbose description of the trail and prefer it to something more
terse. But the guide book is nearly impossible to follow backwards.
So you could re-write the book with a southbound perspective. This
might actually help more people choose to go south and maybe spread
out the herd a little bit.
