Agree that most people don ' t camp more than fifty feet from the trail : get thee gone ( into the bush ) and you will alway be a single sojourner ( even ) on JMT or in the Whites or Colorado Rockies ( and if you eat away from where you camp , you won ' t have any trouble as well with ' habituated ' bears , I am told ; and have experienced first hand ) -
