[pct-l] Ice Axes on Amtrak

I have done the San Diego to Lancaster or Merced to San Diego Amtrak run several times in the last few years. I have never even considered my ice ax as being a possible problem. It never was, but I have no idea what the rules are. Perhaps I was just lucky. I have never checked my bags with Amtrak and have never been stopped to have my backpack inspected.
