[pct-l] alcohol in aluminum

I have a question. Last year I carried my alcohol in a 12 oz.
aluminum that was red and labelled "Fuel". Someone on the trail told
me that it was not safe to carry alcohol in an aluminum bottle. Has
anyone heard of this?

>From what I have heard, alcohol can corrode aluminum, I don't know of any other problem. For short hikes, I often use Sigg aluminum bottles, but haven't noticed any problems. I started out on the PCT using a plastic bottle, but by the end I think I was just using the Heet bottle, with the screw on tops they work fine and pack easy in a side pocket.
