We had to temporarily exit at 623.8, but went home via Ridgecrest & Walker
Pass. As of 5/3 water off in Walker Pass campground, but the 9 ft square
concrete trough filled with cattails, .1 mile below campground road entrance
is full and overflowing with water. As you walk down the highway, it is on
the left side, visible from the road. There is no 30 mph sign on the road
now, but there is a curve sign. There is zero cell phone reception (Verizon)
either at Walker Pass or the campground, and for that matter, it was call
failed anywhere beyond highway 58.

If you happen to go into Ridgecrest for a resupply, and want to reward
yourself with a wonderful meal, try Mon Reve. This is French country style
cooking - not hiker quantities, but true world class food.
