i did a research project on water purification.  which method is most
effective is not clear, but consistent use is the key. also, good
hygiene, ie washing hands after peeing, squatting and washing cooking
stuff with warm soapy water makes a HUGE difference in the incidence
of diarrhea.  the purell no-water hand cleanser is the easiest and
most likely to be regulary used.
