[pct-l] Scott and Joe

Congratulations to Scott and Joe, I followed every post on your hike and
accomplishment.

 

I was a section hiker on the PCT and have done about half of the trail; my
goal was to complete this wonderful trail in my life time.

My friend and I decided to do the section from Aqua Dulcie to Walker Pass in
Dec. 1999 (no one told us it might snow on us).  This was

when I first heard of Scott. The Saufleys were very kind to us two old gals
and we stayed with them the first night. I told them we were going to

stash water over the desert before we started hiking.  She told us we did
not need to as Scott had just come off the trail and left a list of where he
had stashed water.

Apparently he and  a friend had to leave the trail.  We used all the water
Scott Stashed and there was only one spot it was not there, but we were
okay.

THANK YOU SCOTT for all the water you put out these two old gals appreciated
it.

 

I have read all the posts, sour grapes and all and I truly wish

you could turn it around and be very thankful and happy that you are on the
trail and can still walk and hike.

Every step I take now with the aid of a walker I look forward to the next,
and my next goal is to leave the wheel chair and walk on some uneven ground.

 

I live the trail by reading the journals and they are great.

Congratulations to all who finished the trail this year, it was definitely
not an easy year.
