> Anybody else got a mountain lion story?
There was the night in Oregon a mountain lion didn't appreciate where I had chosen to pitch my tarptent, and he spent about 45 minutes making the most threatening, terrify sounds he could make to scare me off. I sat inside the tarptent with my little 1.5" blade in one hand and a heavy rock in the other if he attacked, and tried to just rehearse what to do if it came to a battle (I'd fight back and attack his eyes, hoping to disable him before I was too far gone). Eventually he gave up and moved on, and I got a good night's sleep...
Not meant to scare upcoming hikers, but instead to let you know that very few hiker ever have an encounter, and then even if they are threatening you at night inside a tent, it doesn't mean they will attack.
Steady
