  I used a Pocketmail for my 2006 PCT thru hike and it worked great. A couple of times people had trouble sending to me on the first try but was OK when they resent it. Ask about special promotional savings when you call, they usually have something cheaper than what is advertised on the web site. I think I used 3 sets of lithium batteries, didn't use backlight at all. I did a daily journal so used it a lot.
