[pct-l] RE.TRAIL MAINTENANCE

On the subject of volunteering vs. donating:
Volunteering for trail crew IS rewarding. Yeah, everyone is dead tired
at the end of the day, but there is something immensely satisfying
about making a section of trail better for the hikers and equestrians
that will be passing through. And the camaraderie and sense of
teamwork is outstanding.
If you can't take the time to volunteer (and not everyone can/want to
take a week or so to do that) monetary donations to the PCTA help
volunteers do their work better. Our crew purchases tools, food,
equipment (hard hats, etc) to make trail work safer and more inviting.
So if you can't get out there, do consider a donation, or increasing
your membership level.
Fortunately, PCTA hasn't reached the point where they are charging
people for volunteer trail crew gigs, unlike the Sierra Club, or,
apparently, the AHS. I hope they can keep it that way!
