[pct-l] RE.TRAIL MAINTENANCE

I haven't done any volunteer trail maintenance or building on the PCT. I
volunteer on local projects in Redwood National and State Parks, Smith
River National Recreation Area, etc. I think this way I am "paying my
dues" for my use of all the trails. Years ago I worked on a trail
building project in Plumas (?) NF as a American Hiking Society project.
However I think the trail was never finished and then abandoned when
rangers changed.

So if you want, do your trail work close to home and you are still
paying your way.

This would be an interesting subject for a poll here on the list; how many PCT thru-hikers and/or section hikers have taken the opportunity to give back and volunteer for a trail maintenance gig. I realize it would be difficult for some as not everyone lives here on the west coast, but that isn't necessarily a reason that would stop all of us.
