Hi Ben
I'm from NY and east coast areas in general. Not very far from the PCT
compared to these international hikers.
I'm actually from an AT trail town and believe it or not, I have met more
than a few who have lived here for a quite a while who have never heard of
the AT!!!!!
When I tell family/ friends/ others where I am hiking next, I generally just
say from mexico to canada. I don't even mention the PCT because it is a rare
find someone who knows of the PCT. From mexico to canada puts it into a
quickly understood perspective vs. saying "I'm hiking the Pacific Crest
Trail"
