RE: [pct-l] Topo map software

I have ordered this software and will evaluate it versus topo! software that
I have used for many years. I will post an evaluation.

My experience is that detailed maps are most interesting for people walking
a relatively few miles each day. A thruhiker, averaging even 20 miles per
day, would soon tire of carrying all that paper. If I were thruhiking the
trail I would carry the guidebook. It may look illegible compared to full
color maps but it will be fine once you are on the trail. As Sly says, the
trail ain't hard to find.

I have found topo! an excellent product and I really like the ability to
download routes that someone else went to the trouble of tracing.
