The TOPO! maps that I use are:
1-San Deigo, San Jacinto Wilderness and Anza Borrego 1.2.1
2-Los Angeles and Surrounding Recreational Area 1.0.0
3-Sequoia Kings canyon and Surrounding Wilderness 1.2.3
4-Yosemite, Mammoth and Central Sierra Wilderness 1.2.2
5-Lake Tahoe and Surrounding Wilderness and Ski Areas 1.2.3
Later versions should work. Older versions may NOT.
There are plenty of good maps for the Sierra. If I was on a tight budget I
would purchase the large National Forest maps of that Area. However, to the
best of my knowledge, my tracing of the trail from the guidebook is the best
available [incredible as this may seem] of sections a-d. For those sections
you need San Diego and Los Angeles.
