[pct-l] Meadow Ed

Hikers,

If you've hiked along the PCT anywhere from Mojave to Kennedy Meadows, you've
probably been helped in some way by Meadow Ed. Ed has been involved for years
in helping hikers as they passed through Kennedy Meadows where he normally
sets up shop for 2-3 weeks in May/June. His recycled bourbon bottles (filled
with water) can be seen along the trail for thirsty hikers.

Ed MAY have been the original "trail angel." In fact, in you look up 'trail
angel' in the dictionary, I think you'll find a picture of Meadow Ed.

Through the years, Meadow Ed has also become the self-appointed historian for
PCT through-hikers. If you have hiked all or part of the PCT (including
Kennedy Meadows), Ed probably has a picture of you, and most likely, a story
as well.

Ed doesn't subscribe to the Internet, but if you would like to send a
Christmas/Thank You card, here's Ed's snailmail address:

Meadow Ed
660 Laguna Road
Pasadena, CA 91105

Those of you who plan to attend the Y2ADZPCTKOP (2nd Annual Day Zero PCT Kick
Off Party) next April at Lake Morena will have a chance to talk with Meadow
Ed as well. Be sure and ask to see his photo album of hikers.

I'm sending MY card today.

Charlie
