[pct-l] Antique Sigg Alcohol Stove

My 30 year old Sigg Alcohol stove, while being an antique, is top of the
line lightweight at 3 ounces. I used it all the way thru the thruhike.
Yes, it is fine in snowstorms and served through a month of freezing nights
and mornings this fall.

Considering that there is no priming or fiddling, it is as fast as my
Optimus 8R (also my other favorite). So Montedodge, give this little
beauty a chance and don't toss it when you get to the Sierras. If you
thinking about selling the thing, just give me a call.

When my husband came to meet me in Oregon and wondered why I preferred the
Sigg Alcohol stove, he found out: It is absolutely QUIET, just as fast,
very light, and the fuel is much less a problem( fairly non-toxic, less
explosive, doesn't seem to leak or smell and contaminate food, and it you
can use a pop bottle as a fuel bottle). Moreover, I can let the fuel burn
out and just restart the thing anytime(hard to do with the Optimus); I
learned to cook food with "stand time", and could "simmer" by adding very
little fuel 5 minutes later. You can also simmer by putting the cap on half
of the holes (I burned the gasket previously and had removed it).

I used it as a "hand warmer" after it had burned out.
