Sorry to say I received similar advice and decided to try a pair of
Superfeet. I had been wearing Spenco's in my Asolo 520GX medium weight
hikers with no particular complaints, but hey, better beats good
enough. The Superfeet were not for me. I seldom blister, but on a 3
day backpacking trip I experienced blisters on the balls of both feet
and on the inside of one arch where the aggressive arch support caused
friction. Two weeks later I took a four day trip with essentially the
same equipment, but replaced the Superfeet with my old Spenco's, and
experienced much less discomfort and NO blisters or excessive friction.
One man's experience...
Happy trails, Tom
