Hurricane Helen was glad she had her ice axe between Echo and Donner Passes.  Although the snow is melting quickly during the middle of these warm days, there were several places which needed extra care.  All the thru hikers in these parts are getting tired of the ice and snow.  She is now on her way to Sierra City, along with plenty of other thru hikers either just ahead or just behind, Blake, Jonathan, Donna, Annie and the Salesman, Thor, and others whose names I can't remember just now.
