This might be to late for thru hikers, but for sectioners and the class of 00. Elk Lake Lodge, Oregon has just been sold to new owners.  These people are very hiker friendly.  Previous owners could care less about hikers or their own customers for that matter. Address and phone number in the guide book are still good.
