Um, is ..

 I believe that you are "confused".  This is about the Pacific Crest Trail, AND
who's right, who hates who, who's
flames burn the worst,  who's better, who hikes faster, who talks better, who
has more rights than another. In other words the human dynamics of this list are
virtually identical to any human meeting of this size. Further, experts are
usually pedantic in their bearing, defensive of their position and tend to take
disagreements personally. E-Mail isn't magic. It doesn't change people.

If you joined the list to get education about a trail and packing from
experienced people without enduring normal human dynamics and pontificial
prouncements from experts you had mis-set expectations.  Did you?
